I'm looking for a reasonably priced housing situation in the Charlotte area in the range of $600 + depending on various factors.

I'm currently living in Raleigh and have been for the past six plus years. I've decided to move to Charlotte and am pursuing a shared living situation to secure first before I uproot from my house.

I'm a friendly, mature, respectful, responsible, quiet, single, good humored, professional, straight, non-smoking, youthful and physically active 55 year old man. My former housemates were women of similar ages and my current is an older absentee owner who lives elsewhere with his wife, but I'm open to speaking with anyone over 35 years old if compatible.

There are basically two general scenarios that appeal to me:
1) a shared housing situation with a private bathroom and only one other housemate.
2) a converted garage/ basement/ guest house type apartment.

I've been fortunate in my six plus years of shared living which is why I've continued to do so. My experience hasn't been like the TV show 'Friends' where two people share an apartment and have no choice but to share the one living room and watch TV together. I've always had my own space from a bonus room example to multiple rooms upstairs for private, personal space. I'm hoping there is another similar opportunity out there.

I'm an early sleeper/ early riser that is looking for a reasonably quiet situation on my end after 9 pm or so during the week. Obviously a party type atmosphere or person with a night owl lifestyle wouldn't be a good match. My weekday schedules have been where I would be leaving the house quietly early in the morning, showering at the gym and returning in the late afternoon.

My past housemates had really valued the fact that I wasn't coming and going at all hours of the night and they woke up to the house by themselves.

I'll be providing excellent references for you to follow up with. I'm also agreeable in showing my banking balance information to assure you that I'm not a 'week to week' type person.

If you are looking for a financially responsible, mature person to treat your place with respect and have some 'peace of mind' about the tenant, please let me know.

Please realize there are basic things I need to know in your first reply:
1) How many people are currently living in the place?
2) What is the street and nearest cross street? (so I can Mapquest how far it is from potential work)
3) What is your age?
4) What is the basic room / bathroom/ housing arrangement you are proposing?

I've learned a few things from my previous searches. Please don't respond by sending your phone number and saying you "might have a good opportunity" and leaving it at that. I won't be making any phone calls or playing phone tag until I have a general idea based on the above questions. I prefer to save both our time first.

My general plan is to match up with an opportunity/place that is available starting on February 15th. I'm willing to wait a little for a better situation if need be should one present itself.
I'll be emailing at first, then talking things over on the phone, then ultimately making weekend appointments and trying to be as efficient as possible with the three hour drive.
