We’re looking for a DevOps engineer who loves turning messy, legacy LAMP stack applications into stable, automated, well‑documented infrastructure. If you enjoy mapping unknowns, eliminating configuration drift, building IaC from the ground up, and modernizing monitoring and deployment pipelines, this role will feel like home.
This is a remote position. All applicants must pass a clean BACKGROUND CHECK and must be a US Citizen/ resident legally authorized to work in the United States. NO RECRUITERS or OFFSHORE will be considered.
What You’ll Own
Bring our servers and Catalyst environment up to date and eliminate drift
Clean up and restructure Git repos (no more “backup repos”)
Standardize configs, secrets, and directory structures
Separate dev machines from production‑adjacent FinWebTech systems
Upgrade our monitoring stack (OSSEC, Checkmk, Rocky 8) and kill noisy alerts
Build out structured Ansible roles and playbooks
Stand up Terraform for provisioning and move toward full IaC
Document the current deployment pipeline and introduce CI/CD with rollbacks
Centralize documentation and create clear runbooks
Take on the challenge of cleaning up and maintaining a critical legacy application.
What You Bring
Strong Linux experience (Rocky/RHEL/Ubuntu)
Hands‑on Ansible + Terraform
Experience in modernizing legacy systems
Solid Git fundamentals and repo strategy design
Monitoring/alerting experience (OSSEC, Checkmk, Prometheus, etc.)
A methodical, forensic approach to troubleshooting
Passion for automation, clarity, and reducing operational chaos
Strong knowledge of the LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP/Python).
Ability to work effectively as part of a small, focused team while also demonstrating a strong independent work ethic and the ability to drive projects forward when working alone.
