Hello, I'm a veteran musician who came up in the 80's playing all the hottest guitar solos and playing 5 nights a week back in those days when you could. I played just about every style and learned the old fashioned way: by doing. I learned my instrument inside and out and have been teaching for over 25 years.
I'm looking for students who want to go beyond just being a rhythm guitarist and really understand how to write and play great solos, whether you're a "Slow Hand" or a shredder. Or, if you just want to learn some songwriting techniques or how to write great riffs, I'm your guy. Blues or Metal, I'm fluent in both, and know all the relevant scales, "tricks" and techniques: speed picking, sweeping, arpeggios, modes, exotic modes, etc.
We'll look at how the chords in a key or in a song dictate what scales you can use: there are usually several different options, and knowing how and WHEN to use each can make you a master of expression. I teach in very clear, easy-to-understand terms, and don't get bogged down in the "book" type teaching. You don't need to know how to read music or feel intimidated; I'm not going to show off during your lesson just to boost my ego. I love to see people learn and best of all, to learn how to make real music a true love in their life.
Hit me up if you wanna get together. Peace...
