Four-octave Leedy marimba, model 5614-A "Solorimba," made in the 1930's. Honduran rosewood bars. Arched metal resonators in two-tone gold and black finish. Wheel base. Frame disassembles and resonators fold for easier transportation. Resonators are height-adjustable for seasonal changes.
Condition: Good. There are some minor scratches, and paint/lacquer chips on the frame. Several of the little rubber bar isolators need to be replaced.
The sound quality is great. Lovingly owned and played in churches and other venues for 15-20 years. Taught our daughter to play marimba on it. An excellent student instrument.
