Hello! My name is Ben and I am offering music lessons on guitar, electric bass, ukulele and mandolin for students of all ages and skill levels. Lessons are very flexible and based on the goals and interests of the individual. Material can include anything from basic technique, chords, reading, and learning songs to more involved studies on songwriting, harmony, and soloing/improvisation, depending on your unique direction. We can also work within of a variety of styles including folk, country, bluegrass, rock, blues, jazz, or anything else that interests you.

Just a bit about myself: I am 35 years old and a graduate of Elmhurst University in Illinois, where I studied music and philosophy. Guitar is my main instrument, which I have been playing for over 25 years. I have been performing and teaching on guitar, mandolin, and electric bass regularly since about 2010. I have also recently added ukulele to the lineup.

I started teaching online back in 2020, which, to my surprise, works out incredibly well. So although I'm based out of the Chicago area, I figured I'd reach out a little farther since I am no longer limited to teaching locally.
