Temp Assignment Based RNs are experienced, proficient nurses within their specialty (medical/surgical, telemetry, critical/intermedie care, behavioral health, emergency or women's services) responsible for providing safe, continuous quality pient care in a variety of settings. These RNs are temporarily assigned to one unit for a designed number of weeks based on needs of the system. These RNs possess the skills, competency and qualificions, as well as a requirement to work in any Novant Health locion.

• Educion: 2 Year / Associe Degree, required. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree in nursing, preferred.
  
• Experience:  One year consecutive year within defined specialty (Med, Surg, Tele, Critical Care, ED or Women's), preferred.
• Licensure/certificion/registrion: Current compact licensure in approprie ste, required. Specialty Certificion, preferred.
• Additional skills required:
  • Approprie customer service, effective and approprie customer relions, verbal and non-verbal communicion techniques, interpersonal relionship skills, conflict resolution, critical thinking and computer literacy. Advanced training as required by department/unit/facility per identified skill set/sub cegory. Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validion and competency testing. Has the ability to interpret informion and identify each pient’s requirement for care relive to his/her age specific need. Has the knowledge and skill necessary to modify care
    according to pient(s) age.
  • Successfully complete the Cardiac dysrhythmia test or Cardiac dysrhythmia course within 3 months of hire. NIH Stroke Scale certificion upon hire.
  • Specialty specific: Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) certificion for Emergency Services, Behavioral Health and Med Surg RNs; Women’s Services – Breastfeeding course; Labor and Delivery, Antepartum RN —fetal monitoring course and breastfeeding course.
