This awesome, mid century Modernist spindle stool is from the 1960s and is the design made famous by Arthur Umanoff. It's a family owned piece and has been in use for about 60 years. It was part of a Danish living and dining room suite. The stool shows some scuffs and scratches on the wood mainly from shoes. It stands about 16-1/2 inches tall. The padded seat is about 15 inches across and the base is about 13-1/4 inches across. Shag carpet was applied to the bottom in the early 1970s so that it would slide on the floor easier. This could easily be removed if bothersome. The top of the seat is in very good shape. There is some expected wear on the underside of the seat as shown. Screws may not be all original. A few of the spindles are slightly loose in their slots but nothing some wood glue wouldn't take care of. The stool has a beautiful, mid century design. * More Mid Century pieces to be listed.
