I am pleased to offer pair of vintage Japanese brown pottery figurines, also described as terra cotta Chinoiserie style Asian figurines.
Description: The pair includes a male figure holding birds and a lantern, and a female figure who was originally playing a flute which is now missing.
Material and Origin: They are made of brown glazed pottery or terra cotta and are from Japan.
Condition: The female figure has damage to her hair and torso which has been glued, while the male figure is in good condition with no breaks.
Height: The figurines stand approximately 13.5 inches tall.
Style: The style is classic Chinoiserie, which is a European interpretation of East Asian artistic traditions.
