Pristine condition! Rare Metronome sofa and lounge chair designed by Carl Otto for Heywood Wakefield's Contessa line circa 1959.. Classic design with sleek but simple lines. Both extremely comfortable. Steel legs, angled backs, spacious seating on both. The entire frame is made of steel - no wood!
That's why the legs can be spaced apart so far with no bow in the center - middle leg for extra support. Thin strips of wood are placed on the frame only where necessary to attach fabric. Seat and back have flexible steel springs making the sofa surprisingly light in weight. Measurements for the sofa are Width: 84 in Depth: 33 in Seat Height: 17 in Height: 35 in.
