Proceed cautiously with Red Beard Handyman service out of Clover, SC. Simply: be sure to get everything in writing, be real careful believing what he says. I hired him to fix some water damage, We both thought it would be a significant project requiring a lot of drywall replacement. His bid was considerably higher the the other bids I got, but I felt comfortable with Red and he was local. After some discussion I thought we had agreed that the final charge would be based on the actual work required, once he got into the wall and saw the damage. The actual damage was minimal. He stated, good news, there is no damage or mold inside the wall. He treated the exterior and patched the wholes. No drywall replacement was required. Even thought the actual project was less than half the estimated work he charged me almost 95 percent of the original estimate, even though we had agreed that the final charge would be adjusted based on the actual project. The actual hours spent on the project were lass than half what was originally estimated and the material required was next to nothing. He ended up charging me over double his normal hourly rate, When I received the final invoice and tried to negotiate it down, based on actual hours spent, His response was see you in court.
All I am saying is proceed with caution and make sure you have everything in writing. CAUTION with Red Beard Handyman of Clover
