RushmoreDrive.com, the first-of-its-kind search engine for the Black community, is seeking a local freelance copy editor, to copy edit original commentary for its website.
Description:
Copy editor will work with RushmoreDrive editorial team to clean and polish all original content for its website.
To be considered, you must meet the following requirements:
Must be available to copy edit up to ten 300-word bloglike pieces per week
Must be able to ensure that all changes to copy successfully make it into copy, via content management system
Must be able to read all content for grammatical, spelling and typographic errors with accuracy and speed.
Must be able to work with fact-checker and editor to resolve issues and answer questions that arise regarding copy
Must be familiar with AP Style and have some familiarity with presenting SEO-friendly copy online
Must have 3-5 years of experience as a copy editor for a major publication or website
Must have strong written and oral communication skills
Familiarity with Black current events and media, including blogs, websites, magazines helpful and other platforms
