Please Help our Rescue so we can continue to save the helpless animals at the Gaston County Animal Control Shelter!!!

From now thru the New Years holiday...many kennels and vets offices will not have boarding space for "rescues".. because so many of their regular clients will be going out of town and they will need to dedicate space to those clients to board.

There will be a desperate need for foster homes during this time... Many pets with confirmed rescues will have no place to board..and if they don't have a foster home, they will die for lack of a place to stay until they can transport to their rescue.

If you can help foster a pet...for a few days...a couple of weeks...whatever it takes...knowing that the pet has a CONFIRMED rescue from a legitimate and trusted rescue... please contact me asap...

I'm a 20 y/o female student looking for a safe place to live in Gaston county (Gastonia, Belmont, Mount Holly, Bessemer City, Dallas). My current living situation is very violent and unsafe. I've decided I'm tired of living my life in fear and sleeping with one eye open so I'm looking for a room to rent. I just got a part time job (3 days ago) so I don't know how many hours I'll be working or anything. I'll pay as much as possible (I only have 2 bills: a cell phone & gas so I can contribute most of my income) and will also do chores. I can clean, do laundry and can do some light cooking. If you have children I can babysit, take them to school/pick them up, etc. Most days I don't have to be at work until 3:30 and I get off a little after 8pm so I can help and anytime before or after.

I also have friends I can stay the night with a few days out of the week so I won't always be around. I have a small dog (11lb mini pin) but if she's a problem I can put her up for adoption.

I have a clean criminal background and plenty of references that can speak highly of my character. I'm quiet, non invasive, drug, alcohol, smoke and drama free. I just need a safe temporary place to stay until I get on my feet or if things work out maybe I can stay and pay more rent. Serious replies only please and no I'm not willing to sleep with anyone for a room or do anything illegal.

I am in desperate need of a job!!! I need to have a 30 hour a week job (can be multiple jobs totaling 30 hours) before 12-16-09 to be able to keep my daycare assistance. If loose my daycare I will not be able to interview or afford to pay for daycare on my own. I am willing to any type of work! Restaurant, Housekeeping, Clerical, Warehouse, ANYTHING! No under the table work please as I have to show proof of income. PLEASE HELP...I need a job and need $350 for my December rent.

I am a christian single mother of 2. I am have been unemployed since July of 2009. My unemployment benefits expired last week. I have been diligently seeking employment since then. I have misdemeanors that shows on my background check from 2006 that is preventing me from even getting a job even at McDonalds, Burger King etc.

I have a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and capable of doing a wide variety of jobs such as Customer Service, Collections, Business Plans, Computer Applications, Web Design, Inside Sales and Administrative Assistant, to name a few. I will not turn down any job, I will do house cleaning, chores, run errands, babysit nothing is too small.

I am uncertain how I will pay my December rent and utilities let alone provide a Christmas for my children. If anyone has a position they are seeking to fill or know of anyone who needs help and are willing to overlook my past, I am a strong candidate as I have a lot of skills and abilities to bring to any position.

I live in house with 5 people including myself in Waxhaw NC. We have all had it pretty rough the past couple of years, and dont really know where to turn too.

Let me tell you everyone's story. Across the hall from me is mike 20 years old, when he was 15 his family left him in New York. He finally decided to come down here with them once he finally got in touch with them because he has 4 brothers and sisters one in which is disabled with a rare condition that like one and a million people get. Its called Costello Syndrome. He is 14 years old but has the mentality of a 4 year old. But once he was finally here with both his mother and father his mother up and left all 5 kids with there father who is an alcoholic and cant hold down a job so mike started to work really hard to help keep a roof over his and his brother and sisters head. He has not stopped working since that day but his father kicked him out on the street basically because mike was a better man then him.. So we took him in ( he is there nephew as well ).

L*** and T**** our the Parents in this house and they have one daughter C*****. The four of us had been living together 2 years ago in a house in Indian trail. we all worked spent time together and tried out best to pay the bills but T**** lost his job and me and C***** tried our best for 3 months to hold it down. but just couldn't we used all of our tax money every single check every cent we had went to try to save the house but we were unsuccessful. Lisa felt the worse because she is unable to work. When we lost the house me and C***** had to move to this little room in this house with 5 other people and only one bath room. L*** and T**** moved in with someone who was thought to be a friend but turned out to be nothing. They helped pay little bills there and what money they were giving the guy he was spending on drugs so it felt like they were never gonna get outta there because every cent T**** made went to try to keep there stuff safe in storage and to keep a little roof over there head. Finally one day we get a phone call from C***** mother L***. We found a house! we will soon be back together my daughter she said, we were all so happy. But now that we have this lovely home we still cant get ahead in life. We really don't even have enough money to keep food, and mile, and necessities in the house.

No matter how much I work, how much M*** works, and how much T**** works, We are getting no where the bills are just barely paid. We have been here almost half the year now, still no living room furniture we cant afford a washer or dryer. Myself and C***** still do not have a car to get back and forth. We try so hard every week to put away money for those things but I recently had sugar water put in my gas tank and it blew my engine. I got an insurance check but my mother took most of it ( I don't even wanna get started on her). I bought a car finally a month ago but i still cant drive it. every day T**** tells me something else that is wrong with it. and ill need money to fix it. I think the total for the parts is well over 500 dollars now and I dont know what to do. His alternator just went in his car and cost the rest of what little money we had.

Cassie had a pretty decent paying job but lost it when my car got ruined. Her boss M******* at The Coffee Table in Wesley Chapel fired her even though she was getting to work on time, and never called out. She tried getting unemployment but Melissa lied and said she quit.

I am writing you because this family took me in when i needed a family and now im trying to help them and i cant even do that.
The house as all already decided we are not having a Christmas because it is not in our budget.and i just really wish this wouldn't have to happen for all of us.
We are super embarrassed about asking for help, but we have done everything else we can. Borrowed money from everyone we can just to keep food on the table.

Hello We are a non profit organization called Kentucky Missions. We are needing help with transporting Christmas gifts to the children in our 5 states we work from December 17 - 21. Our main trip for this year is Kentucky. We need an enclosed trailer or box truck to transport at least 1000 presents and keep them out of the weather and safe from theft. We have a truck to pull the trailer if you are unable to or if it is a box truck I can drive it if you are unable. If you are willing to go we will cover fuel costs if you are unable. We also need donations of toys and clothes for ages 0 - 17. The children and families that we are helping are not even able to get a bar of soap to wash themselves other than what they receive from us. My family and I are looking for someone to join us on Christmas day for dinner. We would like to open our home to either an older person, or maybe a single parent with one or two young children to come eat and hang out with us on this special day. No one should be alone on Christmas. Maybe you have no family in this area, and with tough times, can't afford to travel (one of the reasons we are staying home this year.) If need be, we can provide transportation to and from our residence. Please know that we are not as people would say "well off." In fact, after losing my job with Gaston County Schools, my husband has taken on all the financial demands of keeping up with our family. We have been blessed so much in the past months that we are hoping that just maybe we can "pay it forward." We would like for you (and child/children) to join us for a small celebration of a very special day to us. I will do my best to prepare a nice but humble meal to share. We are very laid back and low key. Nothing fancy. Heck, our kitchen table is so small, we usually end up eating in the living room. LOL. All you would need to bring is yourself and an appetite. OK, and a sense of humor! (My brother's family will be joining us and between him and my husband, I am always laughing!) We will have younger children here, whether you bring some or not. We will have 2 rambunctious boys and 1 wall bouncing girl running off the excitement of Santa coming the night before so if your nerves are jittery or your looking for a quiet day, this may not be for you. But, if you have a child you would like to contribute to the fun, or if you are an older person missing those grandkids, come hang out with us. Serious inquiries only please. There is an exciting volunteer opportunity which will be happening at the Lowe's YMCA in Mooresville this March 10 - 14. We are in need of 2000+ volunteers to build HOPE PARK at the Lowe's YMCA.

We cannot make this happen without your help. Shifts will be 3-4 hours long and will include various types of tasks depending on your preference. It doesn�t matter if you�ve never picked up a hammer before. Food will be provided throughout the day as well. Shifts begin around 8am and last until...

International group of volunteers will work along with different organizations involved in the development of the underprivileged. The slum reality is a big issue in the entire country; the aim is to spread awareness among the people and to give them more instruments to feel confident and free to decide for their future, and for the future of a new generation. The mission of this project is to:

Sponsor for a poor, impoverished children of Nepal

Samarpan Nepal - nonprofit, community organization working for poor, impoverished children and environment in Nepal - has a Sponsorship Program on which interested sponsors from across the world can sponsor for our Samarpan Nepal Kid's education.
We have 30 children from the age of 4 to 13 years in our Samarpan Nepal Kids Family who are very poor, impoverished and most of them are from lower, dominated caste. We are looking forward to change their future with the help of sponsors who can send them to the school.

Normally, US$ 20 per month is good enough to send a child in a good school for education. This money can cover a school admission fee and monthly tuition fee.

So, a breakfast expenses for some part of this world can make a huge change into a poor, deprived child's future.

In January 2010, Hands On Charlotte is presenting our third annual MLK Weekend volunteer event to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. We're planning to make it our biggest MLK event ever with your help. Our goal is to have as many as 900 volunteers serving at more than 30 project sites. The event will take place on Saturday, January 16, as well as on the MLK Holiday of Monday, January 18. HOC will offer a range of volunteer projects which focus on the needs of challenged neighborhoods and people living with poverty. The time of the projects is flexible, but they should last about 3 hours. Last year most project took place between 10 am and 1 pm.

If your organization is interested in submitting a project, please reply and I will send you a project proposal form. Since the event takes place in January, most of the projects will be indoors. The deadline for proposals is Friday, December 11.
