<description><![CDATA[Terraine, Inc., an environmental consulting and technology firm, is seeking an Environmental Scientist/Staff Geologist with a minimum of 3 years professional experience to work in the Charlotte, NC office.  The environmental scientist/staff geologist will perform environmental services in support of a NC State Underground Storage Tank contract (NC State Lead).  Respondents must be familiar with NCDENR UST guidance documents and regulations.  Project tasks will require drilling and groundwater/soil sampling  within the state of North Carolina.  Previous drilling experience is required, no exceptions.  Respondents must have exceptional technical writing skills necessary in order to complete required submittals including, but not limited to: Groundwater Monitoring Reports, Receptor Survey Reports, Phase 1 and 2 Limited Site Assessments, Tank Closure Reports, and Corrective Action Plans.  Although the preponderance of work will take place in the state of NC, work may be required in other states, therefore requiring additional travel.  Respondents must be self-starting, able to prioritize tasks, good communicators, as well as show considerable initiative.  <br>

Minimum education required: 4-year college degree (BS, BA, etc.) in geology, environmental science, or other science-related field.  Preference will be give to candidates that live in or would be willing to relocate to a Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) immediately following acceptance of position.  $4,000 toward relocation will be provided.
