Hiring for 2nd or 3rd shift. Shifts do not rotatae between 2nd and 3 rd shifts. 4 days a week 10 hours shifts.
Uses experience and documentation to provide first-line (level 1) resolution to incidents and provide level 2 support where appropriate.
Remedy testing with Remedy Administrator/Developer prior and post upgrade releases through Quality Center.
Participates in special projects to design, deploy and/or migrate technologies into the data center and command center environment. Partners with IS colleagues to ensure the correct standard platforms and procedures are documented and implemented while maintaining focused on the customer and specific business goals.
Project task management - Ability to work in an unsupervised mode and take ownership of projects and/or subtask and manage to completion.
Gathers information for daily status reports and report as needed to the global organization.
Monitors all services with HP OVO (Openview) and ensures any incidents are responded to and resolved in a timely basis to ensure service/system stability. Utilizing Remedy 7.0 for ticketing system. Escalates issues to appropriate resolver group using Merck's standard incident management processes and tools such as Alarm Point Paging System.

• Respond to service request for technical assistance via phone, in person (Charlotte Area) and electronically
• Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues
• Install various network equipment (must occasionally lift/move 50 lbs.)
• Research questions based on informational resources
• Advise user of appropriate action and provide walk through as necessary
• Follow standard Service Desk procedures
• Log all Service Desk activities
• Redirect problems to appropriate resource
• Identify and escalate situations requiring urgent attention
• Track and route problems and request and document procedures
• Stay current with system information, changes and updates
• Respond and direct NOC request
• Work and contribute as part of the company team
Education and Experience
• **Microsoft Certified Professional in Windows Server 2003 or above required
• Other relevant certifications, experience and training a plus
• Knowledge and experience of customer service practices
