POSITION: YOUTH MENTOR for YES (Youth Exploring Success)
21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) program
SALARY: $8 -$10 per hour (depending on experience, 18 hours per week (FICA only). Approx 2:30-6 pm, Mon-Fri, following Iredell-Statesville Schools calendar.
POSITION DATES: November 2, 2009 until June 30, 2010 (Depending on availability of funds. Three additional years of employment possible.)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • REQUIRED: Successful experience with K-12 students
• High school diploma; clear background check; clean drug test
• Positive team spirit and creativity; CDL eligibility preferred
RESPONSIBILITIES: Work in a maximum ratio of 1 to 18 youth to provide first-line advocacy for each student, implement enrichment and prevention activities, ensure continuity with a caring adult regardless of who is conducting an activity, and serve as a concerned point of contact for each family. Duties include, but aren’t limited to, the following:
• Assist with homework completion, tutoring, social skill development, building motivation, and student-involved assessment
• Maintain careful documentation of each youth’s participation, progress, family contacts, and behavior through completion of a Daily Activity Log for each student
• Maintain at least monthly contact with each youth’s family
• Develop lesson plans for, prepare, and conduct regular thematic enrichment activities for program youth and families
• Assist in planning and coordinating activities and partnerships

HPV is a very common virus and there are many different types of HPV. It is estimated that your child has a 50% chance of being infected with HPV at some point during their lives.
In most people, persistent infection will not cause any symptoms or health problems. However; certain types of HPV cause infections that can lead to cervical cancer in women and other HPV-related cancers that affect both men & women.
Currently available vaccines offer protection against 4 types of HPV. Research is now being conducted to develop vaccines that offer protection against a greater number of HPV types. This study – called the HPV Vaccine Study –is testing an investigational vaccine that may help to protect against 9 types of HPV.
Your child may qualify for the HPV Vaccine Study if they are between the ages of 11 and 15 and have not previously received HPV Vaccine. There are also other additional study requirements to be met, which the study doctor will determine if you and your child chose to participate.
If your child is eligible, they will receive at no cost:
o Investigational Study Drug
o Study-related physical exams
o Study-related office visits
There are also certain risks with this study that the study doctor will explain to you should you choose to participate.
Compensation may be available for your time & travel.
Perfect job for a teenager. We want someone who will play & read with our children and not text and watch TV the whole time. We are tired of going though sitter after sitter and want someone reliable and fun. We are down to earth, "cool" parents and not hard to please.
Child care will just be a few hours, a couple times a week right now.. In the summer, It can be up to 20 hours a week.
We pay $8 an hour for 2 children and $10 an hour when you watch all 3.
One or two days or evenings per week to babysit. Occasional weekends will be required with notice.
We are NOT looking for a nanny or someone to help us with our children on a regular basis - just someone to help with occasional babysitting.
The final requirement of the job is housesitting. We like to travel on occasion and have pets that require overnight care.
Reliability and promptness are a MUST.
We are a nice family to work for - we will treat the person with respect and kindness. In return we expect that our household helper will not take advantage of our kindess and be on time and do the work that is required. We offer a flexible schedule but, expect promptness and reliability in return.
Reference are required as is safe and reliable transportation.
Pay is ten dollars per hour.
