� Minimum of 5 years of tax experience gained within a public accounting firm

This position will be situated in Charlotte, NC (Clariant�s North American headquarters) and will be accountable for the payroll function for 6 sites located in 4 Canadian provinces. The Payroll Rep will be responsible for the timely and accurate payroll processing for Clariant Canada�s salaried, nonexempt and union employees and to ensure timely filings of all payroll tax returns and tax payments according to government requirements, and year end processing. This position will also act as a primary backup for US payroll and benefit administration.

Key Responsibilities:
� Perform gross to net payroll processing for all Clariant Canada employee paychecks. This includes processing time from the timekeeping system and adjustment load files, balancing pay results, auditing and analyzing incorrect data, and preparing adjustments.
� Update system payroll data, establish authorized incomes or deductions, and process approved incentives and fringe benefits.
� Make paid time off adjustments; maintain basic timekeeping master files and security.
� Ensure compliance with current government regulations and union collective bargaining agreements, including all reporting and remittance requirements among the federal and provincial authorities, unions, financial institutions and Clariant.
� Ensure all time is entered and approved in accordance to Company policy.
� Oversee federal and provincial payroll tax reporting, including quarterly and year-end returns.
� Interface routinely with Human Resources on employee benefits issues (deductions, retirement payments, etc.) to ensure timely and accurate processing.
� Support audits, audit requests and maintain appropriate controls and documentation for payroll function.
� Provide backup support for the US Payroll (bi-weekly and monthly) administration.
� Perform other related duties as deemed necessary.

Qualifications :
Required:
� Strong knowledge of Canadian federal and provincial laws
� Minimum of five years of Canadian payroll processing experience including tax returns and year end reporting
� Canadian benefits knowledge
� Strong analytical skills
� Ability to prioritize and work under strict deadlines
� Excellent communication and written communication skills with all level of management and employees
� Authorized to work in USA

Preferred:
� Experience using ADP�s Pay@Work , SAP/HR, and Kronos
� Bilingual English/French
� Working knowledge of collective bargaining agreements
� Knowledge of Canada and USA flexible benefit plans, fringe benefits, and pensions, and 401k plans
